The tone becomes shriller in the election year. Regardless of the numerous legal problems of their own designated candidate, the US Republicans are currently working on Joe Biden. The Republican leadership in the House of Representatives described the US President as “unfit” for the White House after the publication of the report on the documents scandal.

One of the "most disturbing parts of the report" was the special investigator's justification for not charging the 81-year-old, according to a statement from US House of Representatives Chairman Mike Johnson and his colleagues in the leadership team on Thursday.

This is that the president's memory was so severely limited that the justice system could not convince a jury that the president acted intentionally. "A man who is unable to be held accountable for mishandling classified information is certainly unfit for the Oval Office," Johnson said.

The Republican also criticized a justice system that applied double standards. The special counsel's finding that President Biden intentionally withheld and disclosed classified materials and engaged in practices that "pose serious risks to national security" is deeply disturbing.

There are always debates about the politician's age

Special investigator Robert Hur published his report on Biden's secret documents affair on Thursday afternoon (local time). It states that no charges will be brought against Biden, but that he intentionally kept classified information as a private citizen.

The report takes a position on Biden's mental state. Biden is characterized, among other things, as an “older man with a bad memory.” In the current presidential election campaign, the Democrat is already struggling with the debate over his old age, which is fueling doubts about his suitability for the powerful office. Recently he caused a stir with several slips of the tongue. He recently confused Angela Merkel and Helmut Kohl at an appointment.

At the end of 2022, classified information from Biden's time as vice president was discovered in various locations, including in private offices in the capital Washington and in Biden's house in Wilmington, Delaware. His Republican predecessor Donald Trump must answer in court for his handling of documents.
