  • Events The children of Castro Urdiales tried to flee by driving the car with their mother's body inside after killing her at home

  • Castro Urdiales "The children had good behavior, they were not conflictive, they studied well"

The testimony of

J.

, the 15-year-old teenager who has declared himself the material author of the stab wound to the neck that ended the life of his mother in

Castro Urdiales

(Cantabria), has opened a new thread in the investigation of the Civil Guard . The boy admitted to the prosecutor that he killed his mother, but accompanied his confession with a background of physical and verbal abuse in a manner, according to what he said, "usual" that the agents are going to delve into.

The boy, judicial sources point out, assured that the insults and some blows at home were "constant." The investigation is now trying to determine if her statement corresponds to reality and whether

Silvia

, the victim, and her husband subjected their two adopted children to mistreatment.

In his account of the events, J. recalled that on Wednesday afternoon a fight broke out at home over the grades of an exam. According to the minor, Silvia hit him violently and he ended up stabbing her in the neck with a kitchen knife from behind her. After her, investigation sources specify, he and her brother

E.

Ella, 13 years old, stripped her naked and put a garbage bag on her head.

The two children went down to the garage with their mother's body without any neighbors seeing them, put her in the back seat and started the vehicle with the idea of fleeing, as this newspaper has reported. The person who was trying to act as the driver accelerated that he could not control and the car crashed against the wall. At that moment, the two teenagers decided to leave their house. It was just after 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

The clock passed 9:00 p.m. and the children's maternal grandmother called Silvia. The children took the call and told their grandmother that they had been kidnapped. In a second communication, they confessed that something had happened with her mother and they disconnected her cell phone. The grandmother had notified the Civil Guard when they told her that they had been kidnapped.

The woman, who lives next door, became alarmed and notified the Civil Guard. There was a second communication between grandmother and grandchildren in which the children talked about something bad having happened.

The agents had already discovered Silvia's body in the garage. They had also entered the house and were surprised by the state she was in. The home was in disarray and investigators found evidence that a violent fight had occurred.

Investigators have spent the last few hours focused on visually inspecting both the house, the car and the garage. All the samples are being analyzed to reconstruct what happened and the round of statements to the environment has already begun.

The hypothesis that Silvia's crime could be a case of sexist violence lost steam as soon as the investigation began when it was discovered that her husband was working in a factory in Llodio (Álava). The idea that the man could have disappeared with his children was discarded. "He was devastated, he couldn't believe it," the same sources recall about the state of the children's father when they gave him the news of

Silvia's death

.

Criminalistics agents from the Civil Guard carry out inspections at the home where the homicide was committed.

Finding them was a priority in those hours of confusion. For this reason, the Police established controls at all points of

Castro Urdiales

and also at the entrances to try to locate the brothers. The two minors were searched in cars, trunks, containers and doorways where they could have taken refuge. Police resources and an ambulance were mobilized. Five hours after the discovery of Silvia's body,

the two brothers were located in the Cotolino park in Castro Urdiales

. It was 2:15 a.m.

The brothers were hiding in the

cliffs of the town's Cotolino park

. The agents no longer have any doubts that the minors are behind their mother's death. The

meeting with both was cold

. Neither child said anything to the officers and appeared to be

"calm

. "

One accepted the arrest without saying a word, according to the same sources consulted. The other one ran and hid in the forest. The Civil Guard located him more than an hour later and also arrested him.

The youngest is in a primary care center waiting for an evaluation to be carried out while the oldest is in a juvenile center where a judge has sent him until the trial is held after his confession.
