Professional and Independent Association of Prosecutors (APIF)

has appealed to the Contentious-Administrative Chamber of the Supreme Court against the appointment of Álvaro García Ortiz as State Attorney General, according to tax sources.

In a note sent to the media, the APIF also highlights that the General Council of the Judiciary, "in an extensive and well-founded opinion, considers that the candidate proposed by the Government, Álvaro García Ortiz, does not meet the necessary qualities to be appointed prosecutor General of the State, considering him, consequently, as unsuitable".

The appellant association highlights that "the actions of Álvaro García Ortiz, in the two years of his previous mandate, with annulment of appointments of Chamber prosecutors, due to misuse of power in the appointment of Dolores Delgado as Chamber prosecutor, of the Fifth Chamber ( military) and, the pending of another appeal in the Supreme Court, requesting the annulment as Chamber Prosecutor, also of Dolores Delgado, of Democratic Memory and Human Rights, as well as his performance, once appointed attorney general of the State, making his debut in the Bearing the decision to deprive the Fiscal Council of the possibility of issuing the opinion requested by the Senate of Spain, regarding the Amnesty Law Proposal, in our opinion it only reaffirms the urgent and necessary filing of this appeal against the appointment of the State Attorney General".
