United States: Haley fails to win Nevada Republican primary despite Trump's absence

She was the only one in the running and yet Nikki Haley did not manage to win the Republican primary in Nevada. Voters preferred to vote blank at 61% by checking the “no candidate” box on the ballot paper. Only 32% voted for the former governor of South Carolina, a major setback for Nikki Haley who is unable to catch up with her great rival Donald Trump.

She wasn't running against anyone, but she still managed to lose the election. All day long, on social networks, Donald Trump's supporters went all out to mock his rival's poor performance in the Nevada Republican primary.

Nikki Haley was in fact the only candidate in the running but on the ballots, 61% of voters preferred to check the “no candidate” box, to clearly mark their hostility to her candidacy. Only 32% actually voted for the former United States ambassador to the UN.

The supremacy of the former president

As a result, no winner is proclaimed. In fact, two Republican primaries are taking place in Nevada, one organized by the state and boycotted by Trump, the other organized by the Republican Party boycotted by Haley. But now, only the second vote counts to obtain the essential delegates to validate the nomination at the Republican convention in July.

In any case, the episode once again proves the supremacy of the former president. And his supporters are all calling on Nikki Haley to withdraw, because in the meantime, the party cannot launch appeals for donations in favor of Trump, but the coffers of his campaign like that of the Republican Party are at their lowest. But Nikki Haley repeats it, she intends to continue and is putting all her efforts on South Carolina, her state of origin which votes on February 24.
