In the appeal, the legislator noted that today the federal law “On the Status of Military Personnel” establishes that spouses of military personnel are granted leave at their request simultaneously with the leave of military personnel.

At the same time, she clarified that at the moment, for one reason or another, not all military personnel are married at the time of their service. In this case, the closest people to the serviceman are his parents, with whom he expects to spend as much time as possible while on vacation.

However, the parliamentarian noted that she has received requests from citizens reporting cases of refusal to grant parents of military personnel leave at the same time as their military sons. In this case, returning to the family for a short time after hard service, the serviceman is forced to spend his vacation away from his working parents, the deputy emphasized.

Lantratova added that in order to prevent such situations, she is preparing changes to federal legislation that would establish the right to grant leave simultaneously with the leave of a military personnel not only for spouses of military personnel, but also for their parents.

“Taking into account the above, I ask you, dear Anton Olegovich, to consider the feasibility of establishing the right of parents of military personnel to be granted leave simultaneously with the leave of military personnel and present the ministry’s position on this issue,” the text of the appeal says.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense proposed to legislatively determine a single maximum age for the service of contract soldiers.
