The Ministry of Health in Gaza said, on Thursday, that Israel is placing the lives of 300 medical staff, 450 wounded, and about 10,000 displaced people in a critical danger zone at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a statement that the hospital is facing a severe shortage of anesthesia and intensive care drugs and surgical supplies.

Al-Qudra warned that the electrical generators would stop within less than 48 hours due to the fuel shortage, noting that electricity was cut off from parts of Nasser Hospital for several hours as a result of the fuel shortage.

The spokesman pointed out that the occupation is obstructing the movement of ambulances, and medical teams are risking their lives in order to save the wounded as a result of preventing ambulances from moving.

He explained that the Nasser Medical Complex was exposed to a health disaster as a result of the accumulation of medical and non-medical waste in the departments and courtyards and the occupation preventing its exit. The water tanks in the health complex also suffered malfunctions as a result of the attacks, and the technical crews are not yet able to repair them.

The Israeli army is still targeting Gaza Strip hospitals after the extensive destruction it inflicted on the health sector, as it continues to siege the Nasser Medical Complex and Al-Amal Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis for the 18th day in a row.

On Wednesday, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila said that during the war on Gaza, Israel killed 340 doctors and health sector workers, injured 900, and continues to arrest 100 staff.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, in addition to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe and massive destruction of infrastructure, which led to Tel Aviv appearing before the International Court of Justice to be tried on charges of genocide. .
