“From an economic point of view, membership in the union is certainly beneficial for Yerevan, and refusal from it, in our opinion, would be contrary to the interests of the country,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergei Lavrov, said that the Russian side had never initiated any cooling of relations with Armenia.
Also, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow supports Yerevan’s spirit for fruitful work within the framework of Armenia’s chairmanship in the EAEU.
