He commented on the CEC’s refusal to register Boris Nadezhdin as a candidate for the presidency of Russia.

Peskov recalled that there are certain parameters that the candidate must fulfill.

“What we heard today from the Central Election Commission is a large number of flaws in the signatures, the invalidity of a large number of signatures,” Peskov noted.

According to him, an important criterion has not been met.

Earlier, the Russian Central Election Commission refused to register Nadezhdin and the leader of the Communists of Russia Sergei Malinkovich as presidential candidates.

Previously, it was reported that the CEC invalidated 9,147 signatures in support of Nadezhdin. This figure exceeded the permissible percentage of signature defects specified in the law.

On February 2, the Russian Central Election Commission sent notices to Anatoly Batashev and the Russian Rada about identified shortcomings in the documents they submitted for registration as candidates for the post of president of the country.
