This was reported by TASS with reference to a statement from the Malmendier Legal law firm, whose services the Russian company turned to.

“On February 6, 2024, the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection informed Rosneft that the Ministry was considering the possibility of expropriating the shares of Rosneft Deutschland GmbH and RN Refining & Marketing GmbH on the basis of Article 19 (1) in combination with Article 18 (2) energy security law,” the message states.

As noted in the law firm, the corresponding expropriation by the German authorities would be an unprecedented measure in the history of Germany and “would forever damage investment security.”

It is emphasized that Rosneft will take all measures to protect the rights of its shareholders.

Earlier, the media wrote that the German government was taking steps to nationalize Rosneft subsidiaries.
