Gabriel Attal's visit to Pas-de-Calais this Thursday, where he must take stock of the floods which are once again threatening the department, takes place in a context of reshuffle. Act II of the composition of his government is still awaited, notably due to François Bayrou's angry outburst.

Gabriel Attal will experience a little delay in his schedule for the day. This Thursday, the Prime Minister is expected in Pas-de-Calais, a month after his first visit there, which took place the same day of his appointment to Matignon. He comes to take stock of the consequences of the floods, which once again threaten the department, placed on orange flood alert.

But a work meeting, to try to finalize the government casting, took more time than expected this Thursday morning. It must be said that Act II of the reshuffle, which is desperately awaited, is occupying everyone's minds at the top of the State. The angry outburst of François Bayrou, who announced Wednesday evening that he would not enter the government, has considerably reshuffled the cards.

Centrist elected officials could still enter government

The three-time candidate for the presidential election coveted, among other things, the post of Minister of National Education, which should ultimately go to Nicole Belloubet. The former Minister of Justice would thus replace Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, in difficulty since her arrival at rue de Grenelle, but who will nevertheless be able to keep her place in the new team. On the other hand, François Bayrou's distancing should not prevent the appointment of several centrist elected officials. Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Digital Affairs in the previous government, and Sarah El Haïry, Secretary of State for Biodiversity, could notably come back.
