Israeli bombing on the Lebanese town of Kafr Kila (French)

The Israeli army announced on Thursday that an officer and two soldiers from its forces were injured as a result of rockets being fired from Lebanon at northern Israel, while Hezbollah announced that it had carried out two operations against Israeli positions off the southern border of Lebanon.

The Israeli army said in a statement, “The launching of several rocket shells that violated the border from Lebanese territory was monitored towards the areas of Kiryat Shmona, Beranit, and Mount Hermon in the north of the country.” It explained that the bombing resulted in a non-commissioned officer being seriously injured, while two other reserve soldiers were slightly injured.

On the other hand, Hezbollah announced in a statement that its members targeted “the command headquarters of the 769th Eastern Brigade of the 91st Galilee Division in the Kiryat Shmona barracks with appropriate weapons.” Hezbollah also attacked with missiles the Israeli Pranit barracks in the Upper Galilee, confirming a direct hit.

The Israeli army confirmed that "fighter planes attacked infrastructure and a military building used by Hezbollah in the Khiam area in southern Lebanon, where launch operations were monitored from there towards the Kiryat Shmona area."

The army published pictures of what it said were raids on Hezbollah infrastructure and reconnaissance sites in the Khiam village area, and said in a statement that one-sixth of the total rocket launches launched from Lebanese territory since the beginning of the fighting were carried out from the vicinity of Khiam.

For his part, Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that the Israeli bombing also targeted the town of Kafr Kila and the surroundings of the towns of Al-Adissa, Tair Harfa, and Al-Jubain in southern Lebanon.

In the wake of a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, since last October 8, the Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed an exchange of fire between the Israeli army, Hezbollah and Palestinian factions, which led to deaths and injuries on both sides, as well as Lebanese civilians.
