A United Nations panel of experts investigating the implementation of sanctions against North Korea suspects that North Korea was involved in cyberattacks in which approximately 440 billion yen worth of Japanese yen was stolen over the seven-year period up to last year. He pointed out that the funds obtained were used for nuclear and missile development.

The United Nations Security Council's panel of experts, which is investigating the implementation status of sanctions against North Korea, has submitted its annual report to be published this spring to a Security Council committee by the 7th.

According to UN diplomatic sources, the report states, ``Between 2017 and last year, North Korea was robbed in 58 cases, totaling approximately $3 billion, or the equivalent of approximately 440 billion yen in Japanese yen. "We suspect that the company was involved in a cyber attack, and we are currently investigating."

He pointed out that the attack was mainly carried out by a hacker group under the Reconnaissance General Bureau, and that the funds obtained from the cyber attack were used to develop weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear weapons and missiles.

He also announced that he had received information from United Nations member states that North Korea is providing weapons and ammunition to other countries, and that an investigation is underway.

In addition, North Korea continues to import refined petroleum products through ship-to-ship transfers, in which cargo is transferred from ship to ship at sea, and to earn foreign currency by dispatching workers overseas, both of which involve various methods of evading sanctions. My analysis is that it has become more sophisticated.
