Ukraine: new Russian air attack, kyiv hard hit

At least five people have died in Ukraine, in the south of the country and in the capital which is currently hosting the head of European diplomacy. Russia has carried out several rounds of bombings, sometimes hitting residential buildings and causing major power outages.

The inhabitants of Kiev once again woke up to explosions this Wednesday morning - the blasts were mainly those of air defense, but the Ukrainian capital was hit hard, missile debris hit two high voltage lines, depriving a part of the inhabitants of the electricity capital, and in the Holosiivs'kiy district it was a residential building which caught fire.

While emergency services are still on site, there have already been several deaths and a dozen people injured, including Vitaliy Klistchi, the mayor of kyiv, who indicated that a pregnant woman was among the injured.

This new large-scale Russian air attack was not limited to kyiv, it hit several other cities: Dnipro, Lviv, Mykolayiv and Kharkiv, causing several injuries and at least one death. In total 64 missiles and drones were launched by Moscow, the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense claims to have intercepted 44 of them.
