A signing ceremony was held on the 7th in Paris, France, where UNESCO's headquarters are located, in which Japan will provide support for protecting cultural properties and improving the educational environment in Ukraine through UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

The signing ceremony was held on the 7th at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, and was attended by Ambassador Yudai Kano of the Permanent Mission of Japan to UNESCO, UNESCO Director-General Azoulay, and Ukraine's Ambassador to France Omelchenko.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Kano and Secretary-General Azoulay signed the document, Ambassador Omelchenko gave a speech expressing his gratitude, and the three of them shook hands.

According to an announcement from the Japanese side, Japan will contribute approximately 14.6 million dollars, or approximately 2 billion yen in Japanese yen, to UNESCO this year for the protection of cultural properties and education in Ukraine, where Russia continues to invade the country. This means working to improve the environment.

Specifically, in addition to training human resources to restore and protect the Odesa Historic Center, a world heritage site that was damaged by the Russian attack, we will also provide psychological care for children and students who are suffering from the psychological burden of the military invasion. The plan is to train educators who will be responsible for this.

After the signing ceremony, Ambassador Kano told reporters, ``UNESCO's mission is to enable the people of Ukraine to live dignified and peaceful lives, not only through economic and security support, but also through cultural and educational support.'' It's an important role."
