“In my opinion, all three of our countries are the object of provocative aspirations of Washington, which is interested in maintaining and escalating tension in order to have a reason to strengthen its military and other presence in Northeast Asia,” Matsegora said.
The ambassador noted that it should be borne in mind that a peaceful environment, strengthening mutual trust and understanding, and developing economic cooperation and exchanges between countries in the region do not meet the interests of Washington.
“The Americans are ready to balance on the brink of an armed conflict, as long as their strategic interests here are ensured,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the escalation of tension on the Korean Peninsula due to the actions of the United States and its allies.
