“Please accept our deepest condolences for the tragic death of former Chilean President Sebastian Piñera,” he said.
Putin emphasized that while holding the post of head of state twice, Sebastian Piñera did a lot for the socio-economic development of his country and gained great international authority.
The Russian leader added that the former head of Chile made a significant personal contribution to the development of friendly Russian-Chilean relations.
“Please convey words of sympathy and support to the family and friends of the deceased, as well as to the entire people of Chile,” concluded the Russian President.
Earlier, Putin expressed condolences to the President of Chile due to the consequences of forest fires.
