The government has announced that the total amount of national expenses directly incurred in preparing for the Osaka-Kansai Expo is expected to rise to a maximum of 164.9 billion yen, with an additional 200 million yen spent on public relations and other expenses. It is possible that expenses such as public relations projects will increase further in the future.

Regarding the Osaka/Kansai Expo to be held next year, the government announced in December last year that the total amount of national expenses directly incurred for preparations such as venue and pavilion construction will be up to 164.7 billion yen, while public relations projects etc. It is anticipated that additional expenditures will be incurred in the future.



On the 7th, the government announced that the additional costs for public relations projects are currently estimated to be around 200 million yen, and that the total national expenditure is expected to increase to around 164.9 billion yen.



The cost of public relations projects, etc. may continue to increase in the future, depending on the progress of initiatives across the country.



The government intends to strive to keep costs down as much as possible, such as by continuously monitoring whether expenditures related to the Expo are appropriate, while making use of the knowledge of outside experts.
