The Security Council meeting, requested by Russia after the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on Lisichansk, took place on Tuesday, January 6. Representatives of Western countries blamed Russia for what is happening in the combat zone.

“Today we heard cynical arguments in the spirit that we would not be sitting here if Russia had not started the “war.” No, gentlemen. If we had not started the SVO, then tragedies like Lisichansk would have been repeated every day, as they happened almost every day for 8 years - until 2022. Only you didn’t notice it then. We came to end this war, and we will certainly do so,” Nebenzya said.

He emphasized that former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who did not allow Kyiv to conclude an agreement with Russia, is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Ukrainians.
