The President of the Government refuses to accept the reality that he is stubborn with Puigdemont's blackmail regarding his mandate. In the first Government control session of the year, the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, told Pedro Sánchez that "without Puigdemont he is nobody" and he responded by comparing him to the "methanol, a solvent" that the characteristic of being "toxic".

According to Sánchez, the reality is very different from what the popular ones draw and he has insisted that "the economy is going like a motorcycle", that Spain "is now much better" and has accused the PP of not understanding political pluralism and consequently not understand Spain.

The opposition leader has responded by predicting that the "Government will fall." "With only the amnesty and obsession with the news coming from Waterloo, no one can last four years," he said. "Spanish people without criminal records also require attention, govern for them who are the ones who pay your salary," the opposition leader concluded.

Sánchez has maintained the theory of "methanol as fuel" which is what, in his opinion, the PP uses to fuel the conflict in Catalonia, proposing, for example, the illegalization of parties and refusing to dialogue with the independence movement. The president has assured that "methanol is colorless like the popular project, flammable like what the PP intends to do in Catalonia and toxic like the catastrophizing drawing made by the Spanish opposition."
