The farmers, who mobilized for several days, ended up obtaining measures worth 400 million euros. But some feel left behind, like organic farmers, who are determined to make themselves heard. There were around a hundred people demonstrating in front of the Bourbon Palace this Wednesday to show their anger.

Under the windows of the Bourbon Palace, flags in hand... A hundred organic farmers are trying to attract the attention of deputies this Wednesday in front of the National Assembly. “Parliamentarians have their hands today on the future of organic farming. It’s now or never that we must support it or abandon it,” explains one of the farmers, present at the demonstration. Support estimated at 271 million euros by the unions of these organic farmers.

“What should be put in place is a framework for margins”

“This support corresponds to the losses of the different sectors: on milk, eggs, pork or cereals. These losses have been recorded on the 60,000 organic farms in France, for two to three years. We no longer want to see today in France, farms are returning to conventional. We must save what is left,” assures Philippe Camburet, president of the National Federation of Organic Agriculture.

And the 50 million euros announced by Gabriel Attal? “50 million out of 271. I’ll let you do the counting,” annoys the president of the federation. A measure therefore considered insufficient. “It actually only corresponds to a little more than 800 euros per year and per farm,” explains Philippe Camburet at the microphone of Europe 1.

And for many, like Lucie, an arborist in the Hautes-Alpes, the announcements do not address the real problems. "What should be put in place is a framework for margins. Because already the prices of organic products are a little more expensive than traditional products, if, behind it, manufacturers and distributors save even more on "Consumers, like those who earn the minimum wage, will never have the means to buy organic products. A multiplier coefficient should be put in place to limit the margins," she says.

Like Lucie, many are also calling for the establishment of floor prices, to ensure a minimum income for farmers in the sector.
