He said that the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, had already taken steps to normalize relations with the South in 2018–2019, but the goodwill he showed did not find the proper response.

At the same time, none of the agreements reached on economic cooperation between North and South Korea were implemented, since “Washington was against it, and the southerners did not dare to object to it,” the ambassador added.

“So time has passed, there is no turning back - at least that’s what our North Korean friends now think,” Matsegora said.

He also said that special forces of the South Korean army are conducting exercises to practice the physical elimination of the DPRK leadership.

He also said that the DPRK, in the face of US provocations, could go for a nuclear test.
