Two people were killed and five others were injured, including two police officers, as a result of gunfire in front of the Palace of Justice building in Istanbul, Turkey.

Anadolu Agency reported that unidentified persons opened fire on Tuesday morning in the square overlooked by the Çağlayan Palace of Justice, without immediately knowing the reasons.

The agency said that two people were killed in the attack and others were injured, including two police officers.

Following the accident, a large number of security personnel and ambulance teams arrived at the site.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, "The terrorist attack was carried out by the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party Front," and added in a blog post on the X platform that "the perpetrators of the attack, a man and a woman, were neutralized."
