Russian Defense says that none of the Ukrainian delights reached their goal (Anatolia)

The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday that Russian air defense systems destroyed 7 drones launched by Ukraine over the southwestern region of the city of Belgorod.

The Russian Ministry of Defense's statements come after the region's governor announced that the city of Gubkin was subjected to a drone attack. But the ministry - in a statement on the Telegram application - said, “No drone reached its target.”

The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said via Telegram that there were no casualties as a result of the attack on Gubkin, but he indicated that 4 houses were damaged, due to drone debris.

Belgorod and other regions bordering Ukraine are subjected to repeated attacks carried out by Ukrainian forces as part of the war that has been going on for two years, which began with Russia's war on Ukraine.

Dismissal of the army commander

There was speculation yesterday, Monday, that the highly popular Ukrainian army commander, Valery Zaloghny, could soon be dismissed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky confirmed on Sunday evening that he was considering dismissing the chief army officer, and said in press statements that “a reset, a new beginning is definitely necessary.”

He added that personnel changes could extend beyond Zaloghny to include "a number of prominent figures in the country, and not just in one field such as the army."

It is noteworthy that Zaloghny (50 years old) became Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army a few months before the war.

Ross arrested

In another context, the Russian Federal Security Service said - in a statement yesterday, Monday - that the security services arrested a group of people consisting of Russian citizens, who were planning to blow up a car belonging to a member of the security service in the city of Simferopol, based on instructions from the Ukrainian Security Service.

The Russian Security Service added that a remote-controlled explosive device made of a German-made anti-tank shell had been seized, in addition to communications devices and other equipment.

The Russia Today website quoted the security service as saying that the members of the group admitted that they were planning, on the orders of the Ukrainian intelligence service, to carry out an attack against an official in the Crimean Peninsula.
