The newspaper Politico writes about this, citing sources.

According to the publication, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland are in favor of imposing sanctions on Russian aluminum.

At the same time, as the newspaper’s interlocutors said, the EU is unlikely to decide on a complete ban on aluminum imports from Russia, since there is a high probability that the association “will face opposition from industrial countries such as Italy, which resist measures that could lead to higher prices.”

It is clarified that the EU still imports 9% of Russian aluminum.

Bloomberg previously reported that new EU sanctions will affect dozens of individuals and legal entities.
