The head of the Jordanian Bar Association, Yahya Abu Aboud, said that a legal team went to the headquarters of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, carrying documents and evidence, to file a complaint on charges of committing “acts constituting the crime of genocide committed in the State of Palestine.”

Abu Aboud pointed out in his interview with Al Jazeera Net that the report is considered the first of its kind that was filed before the court, and it serves as an official announcement of the start of the judicial and legal prosecution of the leaders of the Israeli occupation at the political and military levels.

For his part, expert in international law, Dr. Anis Qassem, said that the lawsuit filed by the Bar Association against the leaders of the Israeli enemy is good, but it is important to work now to form an international coalition of all the bar associations in the Arab world with the representatives of the countries in the meetings of the General Assembly of States Parties to the Convention. Qasim added to Al Jazeera Net that International Prosecutor Karim Khan has lost his credibility and impartiality, as the words and statements made by Israeli leaders are sufficient to convict them according to the law of the International Court of Justice, especially since they contain criminal intent, but Khan has not yet taken the required steps.

The International Criminal Court was legally established on July 1, 2002 under the Rome Statute, which entered into force on April 11 of the same year, and works to stop human rights violations by investigating genocide and war crimes.
