  It is reported that after consultation between the Hong Kong Immigration Department and the Mainland Shenzhen Immigration Inspection Station and other departments, it is estimated that about 6 million passengers will enter and exit Hong Kong through various land border control points. The busiest day for land departures is February 11, with an estimated 461,000 departures, while the peak period for entry is February 13, with an estimated 607,000 arrivals.

  The Hong Kong Immigration Department estimates that the Lo Wu Control Point, Lok Ma Chau Spur Line Control Point (Futian Port) and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Control Point will be very busy during the holidays, with an average daily average of about 170,000, 158,000 and 105,000 entries and exits respectively.

  In order to ease the flow of cross-border people and vehicles during the Lunar New Year holiday, the SAR government has reached a consensus with relevant departments of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City to make the following special customs clearance arrangements:

  (1) From February 9th to 13th, the passenger and bus customs clearance services at the Shenzhen Bay Control Point will be closed at 12:00 a.m. and will be operated all night, that is, 24 hours a day;

  (2) On February 9 and 11, the passenger clearance service at Luo Wu Control Point will be closed from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. the next day.

  In order to cope with the extension of customs clearance hours at certain ports during the Lunar New Year and to ease the flow of passengers during the holidays, the Hong Kong Immigration Department has reduced the number of vacation days for frontline staff to flexibly deploy manpower and opened additional inspection counters and channels to ease the flow of people and vehicles. At the same time, the Hong Kong Immigration Department will also dispatch additional security personnel to help maintain order for passengers to pass through the border.

  On the other hand, the Hong Kong Immigration Department, together with the Hong Kong Police Force, Hong Kong Customs and the MTR Corporation, will set up a joint command center at Luo Wu Control Point to make corresponding arrangements and measures, and to closely liaise with mainland departments such as the Shenzhen Immigration Inspection Station. Pay close attention to the flow of people and take appropriate diversion measures when necessary to ensure smooth flow of people crossing the border.
