Michel stated this during a speech at the European Parliament.

He noted that the decision to create a €50 billion fund for Ukraine is a signal for those who believe in “democratic values.” He also called this decision a message for the partners of the European Union.

“I want to take this moment to join you in calling on the US House of Representatives to quickly unlock the $60 billion needed to guarantee Ukraine’s financial stability,” RIA Novosti quotes Michel.

On February 1, Charles Michel said that the EU summit approved a long-term program of budget assistance to Ukraine worth €50 billion. He added that this is also a signal to the United States and partners that Brussels supports Kyiv.
