Communist Party Chairman Tamura emphasized his intention to work together with opposition parties to change the Liberal Democratic Party's politics, and to aim for 6.5 million votes through proportional representation in the next House of Representatives election.

Tomoko Tamura, who became the first woman to become chairperson at the Communist Party's convention held in January, gave an interview to NHK at party headquarters on the 6th.



In response to the issue surrounding the political funding party of a faction within the Liberal Democratic Party, Chairman Tamura said, ``Liberal Democratic Party politics is truly at an impasse.The opposition parties are in agreement in the Diet on political reform to clarify the truth and eradicate the roots of money-based corruption.'' We need to fight together."



Regarding electoral cooperation with other opposition parties in the run-up to the next House of Representatives election, he said, ``We are facing difficulties as we are being attacked as if we will fight together with the Communist Party, but opposition parties will work together to change the LDP's politics.'' What is needed now is to show this flag."



He then emphasized, ``In the next House of Representatives election, we will make a bold effort to increase the number of seats for our party.It will take considerable effort to obtain 6.5 million votes through proportional representation, but we will continue to pursue this goal.''
