Ambassador Xie Feng said in his speech that the Chinese New Year is warm and the feelings of hometown are strong. The Spring Festival is the oldest, grandest and most important traditional festival in China. It is an emotional bond connecting the descendants of Yan and Huang, and embodies the inseparable feelings of the Chinese people about their home and country. Although the journey home is far, the ancestral (home) country is very close, and the embassy will always be home to overseas compatriots. I am very happy to invite you all to come to the embassy for a reunion dinner and enjoy the "taste of home".
Xie Feng emphasized that no matter how wide the Pacific Ocean is, it cannot stop the Chinese people's deep love for their mother in their ancestral country, nor can it isolate the party and the country's deep concern for overseas travelers. The Embassy in the United States always puts the people first in its heart, carries diplomacy for the people on its shoulders, is mindful of the safety and security of every overseas Chinese in the United States, and strives to provide all-weather, high-quality services. We have introduced favorable policies to facilitate personnel exchanges between China and the United States, including the implementation of overseas remote video notarization, visa appointment-free application, phased reduction of visa fees for China, and "local consular document services" in Houston, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, and Miami. We firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens and enterprises. We have made stern representations against the US's fishing for law enforcement, arbitrary detention, interrogation and repatriation of Chinese students and scholars, and we strongly oppose the US's restrictions on the sale of land assets and raids and nuisances by Chinese-funded enterprises. We have carried out extensive preventive consular protection, held "Safe Study Abroad" pre-departure training sessions for studying in the United States, "Anti-fraud I am the best" short video contest and other activities, and visited 16 universities to carry out "consular protection on campus" to safely find people Chinese students who were "virtually kidnapped" in the United States handled more than 250 important consular protection cases, always responding to the concerns of their compatriots with care and protection.
