The press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction reports this.

“By the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, Chkhartishvili Grigory Shalvovich was arrested in absentia for a period of two months,” the message says.

Akunin is accused of publicly calling for terrorist activities, as well as discrediting the Russian Armed Forces.

The Ministry of Justice previously recognized Akunin as a foreign agent. The ministry noted that Grigory Chkhartishvili (the writer’s real name) disseminated false information about the Russian Federation and its army, and also collected money in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On December 18, Rosfinmonitoring included him in the list of terrorists and extremists. Before this, the chain of bookstores “Chitai-gorod - Bukvoed” suspended sales of Akunin’s books.

This happened after the writer’s statements. He said that he was ready to support Kyiv and deserters in the Russian troops in every possible way. The writer also agreed with the need for the Ukrainian army to strike the Crimean Bridge and Russian cities. In his opinion, “some simple things reach stupid people in the most clear and direct way.”
