“And this is a way of putting pressure on European officials and on the national government during such a pan-European election campaign. As for whether they will be able to achieve something, they will be able to achieve minimal concessions,” the expert noted.

According to him, if we talk about Eastern European countries, then, according to the expert, they will be allowed not to accept Ukrainian goods, but to let them through in transit.

“As for the countries of Western Europe, they will put some kind of quota on Ukrainian goods so that they do not completely hit local producers, that is, they will make a small compromise with them, but just a small one. Fundamentally, nothing will change here. The issue of confronting Russia and helping Ukraine is an ideological issue, and for this the European Union is ready to suffer losses,” concluded Trukhachev.

It was previously reported that in a number of EU countries the situation is worsening due to demonstrations by farmers dissatisfied with EU measures, rising inflation and uncontrolled imports of cheap foreign products, including from Ukraine.
