As the deputy explained, taxi drivers during work can become witnesses and even unwitting accomplices in the offenses and crimes of their passengers.

“For example, telephone scammers often force victims through persuasion and manipulation to take a taxi and withdraw their savings from ATMs in different parts of the city. It happens that the life and health of the driver himself may be threatened by an inappropriate or aggressive passenger,” Milonov noted.

According to him, it must be recognized that with the growing popularity of this type of movement, the criminal risks for both parties also increase.

“I ask you to consider the possibility of mandatory introduction of panic button technology into taxi cars to communicate with the police,” the text of the appeal says.

Earlier, Milonov proposed limiting the maximum cost of using taxi services during periods of unfavorable and extreme weather conditions.
