Nashwa Ashour: The Israeli occupation wasted years of effort and bombed a beauty clinic I owned in Gaza (Al Jazeera)

After all my days were spent working in the clinic, attending conferences and my ambition growing every time to succeed in my medical field, the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip came and destroyed everything that was beautiful.

I am the pharmacist and skin and laser specialist, Nashwa Salah Ashour, from Rafah, Khirbet Al-Adas. I used to own a beauty clinic in Gaza, but it was destroyed after the Israeli occupation bombed it. Of course, years of fatigue went away.

Currently, I live in a tent for the displaced after the war displaced us and took everything we owned. My daily routine has become washing my clothes with my hands and baking a loaf in order to satisfy hunger and survive. “I distribute the aid that reaches us through the people who follow the clinic’s page,” after I made it a means of communication for collecting aid.

Dr. Nashwa Salah Ashour narrated to Al Jazeera Net situations that happened to her and that it is impossible for her to forget, including the day her family home was bombed and destroyed, and all memories were gone with it.

She added: "The people of Gaza are among the finest peoples, and as young people we rejected the idea of immigration to the point that we went to study abroad and returned to implement our ideas in our country, and despite the destruction, we will return to rebuild it."
