On February 1, 2019, three days before New Year’s Eve of the Lunar New Year, the sun was warm and the sky was clear in Beijing.
On the same day, the General Secretary visited and expressed condolences to grassroots cadres and the masses in Beijing. On the way back from Qianmen East District, he got off the bus temporarily and went to the express service point in Qianmen Shitou Hutong.
On February 1, 2019, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the "delivery boy" who was still working at the express service point in Shitou Hutong, Qianmen, Beijing.
Liu Kuo, Qi Nannan and other "delivery guys" had just finished sorting out the express delivery and were about to go out for delivery when they suddenly heard someone shouting outside the door: "The General Secretary is here!" Everyone ran out suspiciously, but they didn't expect that it was the General Secretary who was really coming. See you all!
The alley is not wide, and the General Secretary walked up to the "delivery guys" in a few steps. While shaking hands with them, he said cordially: "I wish you a happy New Year."
Recalling the scene at that time, Liu Kuo could not hide his excitement: "The general secretary held my dusty hand, which was warm and strong."
"Is this busy?" "Are you tired from work?" "Can't you go home during the Spring Festival?" the general secretary asked very carefully. The "delivery boys" looked at the kind general secretary in front of them and were so happy that they didn't know how to express it, so they had to say "thank you" repeatedly.
"The 'delivery boy' works very hard. He gets up early and stays up late, rain or shine. The busier the holidays, he is like a hard-working bee. He is the hardest worker and brings convenience to everyone's life." The general secretary said emotionally.
Liu Kuo has always cherished the moment when he and the General Secretary were "in the same frame" that day: an enthusiastic customer helped print out a screenshot of the video at that time, and this "precious group photo" was carefully posted on the inside of the door of the express delivery vehicle by Liu Kuo. Liu Kuo rides this car every day, working harder to be a "hard-working little bee" and rushing to serve the "last mile" of people's lives.
Such warm memories also remain in the minds of Fan Yong, a steel bar worker from Henan, and his family.
February 8, 2013, also the eve of the Lunar New Year, was freezing and windy in Beijing. The construction site of Nanluoguxiang Station of Metro Line 8 is still racing against time. Several migrant workers, including Fan Yong, who cannot go home for the New Year, moved into rooms prepared for them on the construction site together with their family members who came to visit relatives.
Although it is just a temporary residence, it is still decorated in a New Year style by Fan Yong's family, with blessing characters posted on the door and colorful balloons and small lanterns hung on the bed frame.
On this day, warm greetings arrived unexpectedly. The General Secretary walked into the cozy hut of Fan Yong's family and asked Fan Yong and his wife with concern: "How long have you been here?" "Is the job stable?" "How is the income?" "How are the living conditions at home?"
Looking at Fan Yong's lively and lovely daughter, the general secretary leaned down, patted her cheeks and shoulders, said "Hello, hello" with a smile on his face, and gave the little girl a pink cartoon schoolbag.
"It's not easy to come here. See the scenic spots in Beijing and have a good reunion." The general secretary carefully warned.
As time goes by, the General Secretary’s concern for workers has always remained the same.
On January 18, 2023, the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited and expressed condolences to grassroots cadres and the masses via video link in Beijing.
On January 18, 2023, General Secretary Xi Jinping had cordial exchanges with Zhengzhou East Railway Passenger Transport officials, employees and passengers via video link.
The general secretary spoke highly of it online: "For a long time, the cadres and workers of the transportation system have worked hard and made contributions, and they have made indispensable contributions."
For the left-behind merchants in the wholesale market, the General Secretary not only expressed condolences and gratitude, but also carefully urged everyone to do the most basic livelihood protection work such as "vegetable baskets", "rice bags" and "fruit plates".
