US Central Command (Centcom) announced that the ship "USS Carney" shot down a drone over the Gulf of Aden - yesterday, Friday - and no injuries or damage were reported.

It also announced that it carried out strikes yesterday against 4 other drones on the ground belonging to the Ansar Allah Al-Houthi group that were ready to be launched.

The US Navy destroyer shot down a drone yesterday morning, Friday, while fighters and a warship shot down 7 drones later the same day, while US forces destroyed 4 other drones on the ground before launching them.

She added - in a statement - that no injuries or damage were reported as a result of the drones being dropped over open water.

Centcom explained, "These measures will protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for US Navy ships and commercial vessels."

Raids on Yemen

In this context, the Houthi group announced - at dawn on Saturday - that American and British forces launched 3 raids on Saada Governorate in the north of the country.

A source from the group explained to the Yemeni News Agency that “the raids focused on areas east of the city,” without further details.

On Friday evening, the Houthi group announced that the United States and Britain carried out an attack on Hajjah Governorate (western Yemen) with 7 raids.

Change course

Despite American reassurances, many companies are still avoiding sailing in the Red Sea. The giant French container shipping company CMA CGM announced yesterday, Friday, that it will now avoid crossing the Red Sea.

In solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to an Israeli aggression since last October with American support, the Houthis are targeting, with missiles and drones, cargo ships in the Red Sea that are owned or operated by Israeli companies, or that transport goods to and from Israel.

With the intervention of Washington and London and the tensions taking a noticeable escalation last January, the Houthi group announced that it now considered all American and British ships among its military targets.
