“Political earthquake” in Senegal. Head of State Macky Sall announced on Saturday February 3 the indefinite postponement of the presidential election scheduled for February 25, just a few hours before the opening of the campaign. This is the first time since 1963 that a presidential election by direct universal suffrage has been postponed in this country, presented as an island of stability in Africa.

In its special edition, France 24 analyzes these announcements with Alassane Samba Diop, journalist and director of Emedia, France 24 correspondent in Dakar, Sarah Sakho, and Nicolas Normand, former French ambassador to Senegal.
