Al Jazeera's correspondent said that the Israeli occupation forces opened fire on a car east of Hebron, in the south of the West Bank, and continued their raids in several towns on Friday night.

Palestinian media reported that the occupation forces arrested the driver - a young Palestinian man - after opening fire on the car.

On the other hand, the occupation forces stormed Balata camp, east of Nablus in the northern West Bank, and deployed sniper teams over a number of buildings overlooking the camp, amid armed clashes with Palestinian resistance fighters.

The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades - Youth of Revenge and Liberation said that its fighters in Balata camp were confronting the invading forces, clashing with them with bullets, and targeting them with explosive devices.

The occupation forces also raided the town of Qasra, south of Nablus, the town of Rujib, east of the city, and the town of Burqa, to the northwest. They conducted patrols in a number of neighborhoods and surrounded some homes.

The occupation forces also stormed the village of Baqat al-Hatab, east of Qalqilya, raided a number of homes and tampered with their contents.

Continuous arrests

The occupation army also carried out a raid and arrest campaign among Palestinians in the city of Tubas, north of the West Bank, as a result of which confrontations broke out between citizens and Israeli forces, who fired live bullets and stun grenades.

The raids were also renewed in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank, where the occupation forces raided several homes.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club and the Prisoners' Affairs Authority said that during the past hours, the occupation forces arrested at least 25 Palestinians from the West Bank, including a woman, a wounded man, and children.

The two bodies reported in a joint statement that the total number of arrests since last October had risen to about 6,485 detainees.

The raids and arrests continue in the cities and camps of the West Bank as part of a broad Israeli escalation since the resistance launched the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle on October 7 last year.

Settlement plan

A day after the United States imposed sanctions on settlers, Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said that Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on the Planning Committee to approve a plan to build 7,000 settlement units in the West Bank.

Settlers' attacks in all their forms have escalated, including the construction of settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank coinciding with the war on Gaza, as the occupation army provides protection for the settlers during their repeated attacks on the Palestinians.

The Israeli Peace Now movement estimates that more than 700,000 settlers reside in West Bank settlements, including East Jerusalem.
