According to RIA Novosti, Danilov made these statements against the backdrop of failures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front and complaints from Kyiv about a shortage of weapons.

“The military has a desire to have as many weapons as possible,” the Ukrainian official said. According to him, St. Petersburg, Moscow and “other territories of Russia” are allegedly already under the control of Ukrainian-made weapons.

The head of the National Security and Defense Council threatened to “advance the demilitarized zone” to Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on January 31 that the demilitarized zone in Ukraine should be at a distance that would ensure the safety of peaceful Russian cities from shelling.
