France: several people injured with knives in a Parisian station, a man arrested

A man, suspected of having stabbed several people on the morning of Saturday February 3, at Gare de Lyon in Paris, was arrested, the police headquarters told AFP.

The motivations of the attacker, who was arrested just after the action, are unclear. “ 

The suspect did not shout during his action

 ,” added a police source. “ 

He presented the police with an Italian driving license 

,” the same source said. “ 

There is an intervention by the police and emergency services currently in Hall 1 and 3 which makes them temporarily inaccessible

 ,” indicated the national railway company SNCF on X.

According to a provisional report from the police headquarters, the attack, which took place around 7 a.m. UT at Gare de Lyon, in the south-east of Paris, left one seriously injured, with no life-threatening prognosis, and two minor injuries.
