According to the publication, as of January 2023, about 77 thousand people without a fixed place of residence were registered in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. It is noted that these results exceed last year’s (2022) results by more than two times.

Moreover, about 24 thousand of them are minors, the publication writes.

The state government linked the sharp increase in the number of homeless people to statistical reasons and the registration of refugees from Ukraine.

“Since we take into account homeless refugees from Ukraine, many people have been added to the homeless statistics. This is happening all over Germany,” said a government spokeswoman.

Earlier, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper reported that the German opposition demanded that refugees in the country be sent back to Ukraine.
