With the initial letters "C" and "A" of China-ASEAN (CHINA-ASEAN) as the main visual elements, it forms a dragon-shaped appearance that represents the Year of the Dragon in 2024. It also contains the beautiful meaning that China and ASEAN countries are connected by mountains and rivers and share a common destiny.

  The arched stripe pattern also represents bridges and roads, symbolizing the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative jointly built by China and ASEAN. The main color is "Chinese red", supplemented by gradient red, green, orange, yellow and blue tones, symbolizing the harmony and symbiosis between China and ASEAN countries, and jointly building a peaceful, tranquil, prosperous, beautiful and friendly homeland.

  On the same day, the China-ASEAN Center, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries jointly held a logo release ceremony for the 2024 China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchange in Fuzhou, announcing the list of winners of the Year of People-to-People Exchange Logo Design Competition and awarding awards. The works of 8 contestants from China, Indonesia, Brunei, and Malaysia won the first, second, and third prizes.

  Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the China-ASEAN Center, said that in less than a month since the competition was launched in December last year, a total of about 1,300 entries from China and ASEAN countries have been collected, which fully reflects the creative passion of young designers from both sides and more vividly demonstrates It has demonstrated the great enthusiasm of people on both sides for deepening China-ASEAN friendship.

  Somphong, the Lao ambassador to China, said that as the rotating chair of ASEAN in 2024, Laos will continue to be committed to promoting ASEAN-China cooperation and work with ASEAN member states and China to jointly organize various activities of the Year of People-to-People Exchange.   This design competition will be launched in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province on December 18, 2023.
