As he said in an interview with Kabar, previously the Bishkek thermal power plant burned coal from the Kara-Keche deposit, the calorie content of which was 3,800 kilocalories per kilogram.

“Last year we decided to use Shabyrkul coal. Its calorie content is 5,500 kcal/kg. I’m not an expert, but I think that the explosion occurred due to an increase in temperature due to the fact that the employees did not take into account that it was high-calorie coal and burned it like Kara-Kechin coal,” he noted.

Earlier it became known that residents of Bishkek were left without hot water and heating as a result of an accident at a thermal power plant.

According to the latest data, five people were injured in an accident at a thermal power plant.
