  Shenyang is an important central city in Northeast China with numerous historical sites and rich cultural landscapes. Walking into Shenyang Zhongjie, which has a history of nearly 400 years, you will see row upon row of old buildings and trendy fashions coexisting. "History and innovation are the charm of Zhongjie." For Ma Xiaolin, a 37-year-old Taiwan compatriot, Zhongjie is no stranger. 10 years ago, Ma Xiaolin went to Shenyang to start a business and met her significant other in Shenyang. Over the past 10 years, her business has been getting better and better, and her feelings for Shenyang have become increasingly deep.

  "I like to explore the history and culture of Shenyang." Ma Xiaolin took her Taiwanese family to places such as the Shenyang Forbidden City, Liaoning Provincial Museum, and Liaoning Museum of Paleontology. Shenyang's unique historical and cultural resources such as old buildings, old alleys, and time-honored shops are deeply loved by Taiwanese compatriots.

  Since the beginning of winter, mainland China's ice and snow economy has continued to heat up. During the 2024 New Year's Day holiday, Shenyang, located in the "golden latitude zone of skiing", received a total of 2.4362 million domestic tourists, a year-on-year increase of 161.37%.

  Playing in snow circles, skating on ladders, riding sledges... At Shenyang Qipanshan Ice and Snow World, Taiwanese compatriots are immersed in the world of snow and ice and experience the charm of Shenyang's ice and snow.   Mao Minghuan, a Taiwanese compatriot who has been developing in the mainland for more than 20 years, said that Shenyang has emerged with many heroic figures and stories that are worthy of its name, making it a veritable city of heroes.

  As a doctor working in Shenyang, Mao Minghuan has been keen on public welfare undertakings in recent years and has participated in many donations and relief activities. “The enthusiasm of Shenyang people makes me feel happy,” Mao Minghuan said.

  Taiwan compatriot Li Youtang also said that although he was far away from his hometown and relatives, Shenyang's deep human touch and meticulous care made him feel like home. He will also celebrate the New Year in Shenyang this year.
