The press service noted that the Rosselkhoznadzor informed the Serbian agency about the identified violation in Farmina Pet Foods feed and asked to conduct an investigation, as well as send materials about the corrective measures taken.

Based on the results of the analysis of the materials, the issue of lifting restrictions will be considered, the department added.

They also reported that procedures were being carried out to prevent a batch in which an unacceptable level of arsenic was detected from being put into circulation.

“Those products that were produced before January 31 are under enhanced laboratory control. If violations are detected, it will also not be allowed into circulation. At the same time, it is possible to judge whether the food is completely safe for a pet only based on the results of laboratory tests on safety indicators,” the press service said.

They also drew attention to the fact that Rosselkhoznadzor has been conducting systematic work for several years regarding quality control and safety of feed products coming from third countries.

“Continuous laboratory monitoring of feed coming from abroad is carried out to ensure compliance with Russian requirements, as well as on-site inspections of manufacturing enterprises,” the organization assured.

Earlier, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on animal feed from Farmina Pet Foods in Russia due to the detection of arsenic in them.
