It is noted that in 2022, SBI employees reported suspicions to Igor Churkin in absentia.

“Lviv Bus Plants LLC took out a significant loan from a state bank secured by its property. According to the SBI, Churkin spent the money at his own discretion and refused to return the loan funds to the bank,” RIA Novosti quotes the department’s message.

In October last year, the SBI reported that in 2005, Churkin was elected chairman of the supervisory board of ZAO Municipal Transport Plant (formerly OJSC Lvov Automobile Plant).

As stated in the department's statement, in 2008 he organized the alienation of eight real estate properties of the former state-owned enterprise, and his commercial structures became their new owners.

It is noted that the amount of damage caused to ZAO Municipal Transport Plant is more than 367 million hryvnia.

On February 1, it became known that the Argentine police, at the request of Ukraine, detained a Russian; a trial is now awaiting on the issue of his possible extradition to Kyiv.

The preliminary court hearing has already taken place, the man was released on his own recognizance not to leave the country.

Within the next 45 days, another court hearing will take place, at which a decision will be made on whether the Russian is subject to extradition to Ukraine or not.
