The Zola School in the town of Las Rozas has been completely evacuated preventively this afternoon when intense smoke was detected coming from the kitchens, which could be seen from the outside. The incident began in one of the kitchen extractor hoods shortly before 1:00 p.m. and

the smoke spread through the ducts through the classes and patios

, so the management of the educational center has ordered its evacuation. Thanks to the drills carried out during the course, the 1,700 students, teachers and the rest of the staff have left the school in three minutes.

Several Community Firefighters

came to the place, located on Avenida de Esparta 6,

and observed that there were no longer flames, so they acted on the smoke to ventilate the facilities, checking for condensation of smoke in classes, a spokesperson for the Community of Madrid Emergencies 112 has informed Europa Press.

The parents of the students came to pick up the minors while the firefighters completely ventilated the school. Members of Summa-112, the Red Cross and the Municipal Assistance, Emergency and Rescue Service of the Las Rozas City Council (SAMER) and agents of the Local Police and the Civil Guard have also approached the place.

The health workers have treated three kitchen employees with minor poisoning due to smoke inhalation,

municipal sources have indicated. No children have been injured or poisoned.

The management of Zola School has issued a statement, sent to the parents' messaging groups, in which it has confirmed that due to an incident in the kitchen they have had to vacate the center this afternoon. In addition to conveying peace of mind, they have indicated that the incident is under control and

all the students "are in perfect condition and located with their teachers in the vicinity of the center."

But on the other hand, due to what happened, this Friday there will be no dining room or cafeteria service nor will classes be able to resume.

Likewise, they have recommended that families who can pick up their children in the following way: Primary, Secondary and High School students at the Avenida de Esparta roundabout in front of the general secretariat. And the Kindergarten students at the end of Plato Street, taking into account that there is a section of Esparta Avenue cut off.
