Osaulenko noted that various support measures for foreign tourists in the banking sector are currently being discussed.

“For example, we are discussing expanding the capabilities of banks with exchange offices, expanding their time range of work, working on weekends. Cards are another option. And the greater the variability, the better it will be for the tourist himself,” says the director of the association.

According to him, the issuance of payment cards for foreign tourists will primarily be convenient for organized tourists.

“Because part of the organizational process for obtaining such cards will be taken on by tour operators. And this is very important when a tourist decides all these organizational issues before his tourist trip. And upon arrival, he gets the opportunity to have a fairly complete rest, buy souvenirs and, so to speak, join in the cultural and educational moments of the country to which he arrived,” concluded RT’s interlocutor.

Earlier, information appeared in the media that Russian banks began issuing payment cards for foreign tourists in test mode.
