Occupied Jerusalem

- The Palestinian Rukn family in the occupied city of Jerusalem has been subjected to increasing targeting by the Israeli occupation for months, similar to hundreds of Jerusalemite families whose suffering has doubled in light of the measures targeting the city’s Palestinians since October 7, 2023.

Al Jazeera Net takes its followers to a house in Jerusalem, transmitting from there a small model of what is happening against the people of Jerusalem in conjunction with the world's preoccupation with the aggression against the Gaza Strip.

On Friday, the family was on the verge of one of a series of raids on their home and the arrest of 3 of its members: Father Abdel Nasser and two of his sons, one day after the release of a fourth from prison.

The young man, Muhammad Rukn (30 years old), tells of the suffering of his family, which consists of 9 members. “They were either arrested or injured as a result of beatings and abuse, or their homes were raided and vandalized several times.”

Rukn says that the house witnessed a barbaric raid with police dogs, destroying all its contents, and confiscating money, gold, and electronic devices.

He added that his elderly and sick mother was not spared from abuse, and that women did not get the opportunity to wear the hijab.

Muhammad Abu Rukn points out that the occupation did not give his family an opportunity to rejoice over the release of their son, Abdul Rahman Montaf, during the week, after spending 4 months in prison.

He added that despite the persecution the family is being subjected to, it has no choice but to stand firm and remain steadfast in Jerusalem.

Since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the city of Jerusalem has been living under the influence of Israeli measures, including raids on the homes of Jerusalemites and confiscation of money and property.
