An American TikToker did well to try his luck. Matthew Ables had tickets to Disney World in Orlando, United States, in his drawers that were more than 40 years old. And it worked! The latter explains everything that happened in a video that has gone viral on the social network.

Can you spend a day at Disney World with tickets that are over 40 years old? This is the question that TikToker Matthew Ables wanted to answer. Followed by almost 650,000 people, this young American found an old ticket book at home, dating from 1978, to enter the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, in the United States.

Eight dollars for entry in 1978

In a video published on the social network, seen more than nine million times in a week, he explains that this old pass has been "collecting dust" since it was born at home. He even thought it was just a simple memory. But upon closer inspection, he realizes that the tickets have not been used and that there is no expiration date on them. Then he had an idea: is it possible to spend a day in the park with tickets that are half a century old?

He decides to try his luck. He takes the plane to Florida and upon arriving at the ticket counter, he presents his old pass to the park employee: "I was getting nervous, because she started aggressively stamping all the tickets with the words 'cancelled', then she left,” Matthew Ables said. A few moments later, to the TikToker's great surprise, she reappears with a yellow pass, which allowed her to spend the day in the park: "I can't believe it actually worked," she said. -he rejoiced.

In the comments of his video, Internet users confirmed that he had gotten a good deal. The ticket in 1978 cost 8 dollars, which, with inflation, corresponds to 38 dollars today. Today, to spend a day at Disney World, you have to pay between $109 and $164. The only downside was that the teller refused to give him his old pass as a souvenir. Internet users hope that this "piece of history" was not thrown in the trash and that it was kept somewhere in the park.
