The Polish prime minister said this before an extraordinary meeting of EU leaders.

Tusk stressed that he cannot agree with the “highly selfish game” of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and accept it in conditions when “it is necessary to increase pressure on Russia.”

“However, there is no room for compromise. We will not enter into compromises when it comes to our values and the issue of Ukraine,” RIA Novosti quotes Tusk.

He added that Orban's position poses a threat to the security of the EU, so it is impossible to agree with such a policy of Hungary.

Earlier, Viktor Orban accused the EU of an ideological war against Hungary.

According to Orban, the European Union is getting closer to imperialism and less and less like a community of sovereign states.

Prior to this, the Financial Times, with reference to an EU document, wrote that the EU could sabotage the Hungarian economy if Budapest does not lift its veto on aid to Kyiv at the summit in Brussels on February 1.
